Adam Holyk

Senior Vice President, Strategy, Walgreen Co.

Adam Holyk is senior vice president, strategy for Walgreens. He leads the strategy and development of Walgreens future growth models, identifying new opportunities and prioritizing investments. Moreover, he has responsibility for developing key corporate partnerships. Most recently he served as chief marketing officer, where he had responsibility for Walgreens marketing, media, creative and brand strategy supporting retail, pharmacy and healthcare. Holyk's team repositioned Walgreens brand marketing, being recognized as one of the “most loved brands in America.”   

Holyk joined Walgreens in 2011 as divisional vice president, where his team launched Walgreens customer loyalty program. He was elevated to group vice president assuming responsibility for insights and data analytics. Later he was appointed to lead corporate strategy development for Walgreens Boots Alliance working on healthcare partnerships. Prior to joining Walgreens, he was a vice president for dunnhumby, a leading marketing insights and analytics consultancy based in New York. Earlier, he served as a vice president for Shoppers Drug Mart, managing its loyalty program and customer marketing. Holyk started his career at Loblaw Companies Limited, Canada's largest food distributor. 

Holyk earned his master of business administration degree from York University's Schulich School of Business. He also holds a juris doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto and a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Guelph.
